Welcome to the Fergus & District Horticultural Society website. Our Society was founded in 1857 and has been dedicated to preserving the horticultural heritage in Fergus and area for more than 166 years! Our Society members are interested in learning about plants and gardening, and work hard to enhance our community’s natural beauty.

Flower Arranging Workshop – March 5, 2025
Michelle and Kathy created a fabulous design workshop on flower arranging. Everyone had a great time and left with a beautiful flower arrangement. A huge thank you to Michelle and Kathy for such a fun and creative experience!
Seedy Saturday – March 15, 2025
Location: Aboyne Hall at the Wellington County Museum
Seedy Saturday planning is in full swing! If you’d like to volunteer and be part of the fun, feel free to reach out to cw.seedy.saturday@gmail.com.
There will be lots of vendors and activities—it’s going to be a fantastic event!
Elora and Salem Spring Event – March 19, 2025
Location: Grandway Events Centre
Tickets are available at the door. Doors open at 6:00.
March Members’ Meeting – March 26, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Location: Fergus Legion
Randy McLean will entertain us with a presentation on how he makes Maple Syrup!
Membership
Membership dues are now due for 2025, if you’d like to pay by cash or cheque please plan on coming in early to the next meeting. Annual dues are $15/adult, $5 for children under 18.
You may also submit your payment via e-transfer to fergushorticulture@gmail.com, be sure to include the member’s name, email, home address and phone #.
Membership cards are issued to all paid up members. If you paid by e-transfer your card will be available at the membership table. New members will receive a name tag at the next meeting.
Let me know if you haven’t received a name tag… remember to bring it to every meeting!
