Welcome to the Fergus & District Horticultural Society website.  Our Society was founded in 1857 and has been dedicated to preserving the horticultural heritage in Fergus and area for more than 166 years! Our Society members are interested in learning about plants and gardening, and work hard to enhance our community’s natural beauty.

February Members’ Meeting – 2025/02/26

The meeting location for the February Members’ Meeting is changed to the Aboyne Hall at the Wellington Museum. The doors will be opened at 7:00pm, and the program will start at 7:30pm. 

Come and enjoy a fun evening with Sonia Day – “Meet Deirdre the hoity-hort and Elinor the eco-evangelist” – A humorous look at gardeners I have met!

Active Living & Retirement Show – 2025/02/28 10am-2pm

We’re so excited to be part of this event at the Sportplex! Be sure to stop by our booth – we can’t wait to see you there!

Seedy Saturday – 2025/03/15 

Seedy Saturday planning is in full swing! If you’d like to volunteer and be part of the fun, feel free to reach out to cw.seedy.saturday@gmail.com.

There will be lots of vendors and activities—it’s going to be a fantastic event!

Membership

Membership dues are now due for 2025, if you’d like to pay by cash or cheque please plan on coming in early to the next meeting. Annual dues are $15/adult, $5 for children under 18.

You may also submit your payment via e-transfer to fergushorticulture@gmail.com, be sure to include the member’s name, email, home address and phone #.

Membership cards are issued to all paid up members. If you paid by e-transfer your card will be available at the membership table. New members will receive a name tag at the next meeting.

Let me know if you haven’t received a name tag… remember to bring it to every meeting!
